Abstract: The transformation of human resource (HR) management in the defense sector is increasingly driven by the integration of artificial intelligence (AI). This technology is not only a tool for administrative support but also a strategic component in developing adaptive, efficient, and responsive HR systems in response to the complexities of the global strategic environment. This study aims to evaluate the role of AI in reshaping HR practices within Indonesian defense institutions, focusing on recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and strategic planning. A qualitative research approach was employed using a systematic literature review of academic journals, policy reports, and recent scientific publications. The findings reveal that AI significantly contributes to faster decision-making, more accurate personnel selection, and data-driven training optimization. However, its implementation also raises ethical concerns, such as algorithmic bias, data privacy, and the need for robust regulatory frameworks. This study offers strategic recommendations for defense policymakers to ensure the ethical and sustainable integration of AI into HR management, strengthening institutional agility and maintaining competitive advantage amid rapidly evolving global dynamics.
