Author(s): Kalpna
Abstract: This paper explores the determinants and
consequences of academic success and failure among young children with emphasis
on developmental, psychological, and socio-environmental factors, the paper
synthesizes existing literature and presents insights into early education
challenges. The early years of a child's life are a period
of rapid and formative development, during which experiences in various domains
significantly shape their trajectory. The school environment plays a crucial
role, serving as a primary context for learning, social interaction, and the
development of self-perception. Within this environment, young children
inevitably encounter both academic successes and failures, which affect their
psychological and social development. Understanding the nature and extent of
these effects is necessary for educators, parents, and policymakers seeking to
increase learning experiences and fostering development in kids and their
overall well-being.
