Abstract: The integration of laser technology in dentistry has revolutionized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures by offering greater precision, reduced patient discomfort, and improved healing outcomes. However, the use of dental lasers necessitates strict adherence to safety protocols to mitigate potential hazards such as ocular injuries, tissue damage, and fire risks. This abstract reviews the principles of laser safety in dental settings, emphasizing the importance of training, protective equipment, and adherence to regulatory standards. Key safety measures include the proper classification of lasers, use of wavelength-specific protective eyewear, maintenance of controlled treatment environments, and implementation of safety signage and protocols. Effective laser safety programs are essential to protect both patients and dental professionals, ensuring the benefits of laser technology are realized without compromising health and safety.
