Abstract: The Viksit Bharat 2047 initiative envisions transforming India into a developed, inclusive, and sustainable nation by its 100th year of independence. This study explores the role of social workers and development experts in advancing India’s progress by addressing key social and economic challenges. Using a qualitative research approach, the study examines previous literature, policy documents, and global development models to highlight the importance of social indicators such as education, healthcare, gender equality, and environmental sustainability in shaping national growth. A key focus is the Social Development Index (SDI), which redefines progress beyond GDP by assessing human well-being, social equity, and sustainability. The study emphasizes that collaborative efforts among government institutions, private sectors, and civil society are essential for implementing policies effectively. Lessons from international best practices suggest that leveraging technology, innovation, and community-driven initiatives can accelerate progress and ensure long-term sustainability. The findings indicate that achieving Viksit Bharat 2047 requires a multi-faceted approach integrating economic, social, and environmental policies. By strengthening institutional frameworks and ensuring policy continuity, India can establish a prosperous, equitable, and forward-looking society, benefiting all citizens and enhancing its global standing.
