Are resilience, self-efficacy and psychological well-being associated with attitude towards gender equity? A compared to study among women

Abstract: Gender discrimination is when someone is being treated unfairly according to their gender. Gender inequality is common in our society, educational set up but it is more likely to seen in organizational setup. It is influenced by cultural norms, region, religion and tradition. Family plays vital role in gender discrimination. According to family, women are for households only. Nowadays, people show negative attitude towards gender discrimination. On the other hand, the impact of gender discrimination is now the point of concern. Gender discrimination may affect the mood of employees, specially it may lead to depressive symptoms in female employees. Resilience, Self-Efficacy and Psychological Well-Being also get effected by gender discrimination. The goal of the current study was to look into the association between Resilience, Self-Efficacy and Psychological Well-Being with Attitude towards Gender Equity among women. In this study, 100 women are taken as sample. Some women are reported lack of insight of being victim of gender discrimination. People with high attitude towards gender equity are tend to have low resilience, self-efficacy and psychological well-being. Gender Equity Scale (GES), Brief Resilience Scale (BRS), Self-Efficacy Scale (SES) and Ryff's Psychological Well Being Scale (PWB) are used in this study to collect the data. Women, aged between 18 to 35 are involved in this study. The statistical analysis of the data shows an interesting vision of the association between Resilience, Self-Efficacy and Psychological Well-Being with Attitude towards Gender Equity among women. The result shows significant relationship between Attitude Towards Gender Equity with Self-efficacy and Psychological Well-Being but no significant relationship between Attitude Towards Gender Equity and Resilience.
