Abstract: The use of artificial intelligence applications in achieving criminal justice represents a radical shift in how crimes are dealt with and investigated. Artificial intelligence is the ability of computer systems to simulate human intelligence, which enables data analysis and decision-making more accurately and quickly.
The advantages of artificial intelligence in the field of criminal justice include improving efficiency and reducing time and effort in investigations. Data such as crime records and information related to suspects can be analyzed, which helps judicial investigators use digital technologies to anticipate potential crimes, which means contributing to enhancing public safety.
Despite the above positives, there are risks and negatives related to the use of artificial intelligence applications in the field of criminal justice, including the violation of privacy and security, as surveillance systems may lead to the violation of individuals’ rights, or the possibility of bias in providing data may lead to discrimination against certain groups in society.
The role of artificial intelligence applications in criminal investigations appears in supporting the analysis of digital evidence such as video clips and images, which helps enhance the accuracy of information and thus the accuracy of investigations. These technologies must be used with caution and care, with legal and ethical controls in place to ensure the protection of individuals’ rights and the achievement of criminal justice.
