Green marketing practices in the manufacturing industries of the Coimbatore districts

Abstract: Marketing play a vital role in development of business in India. Especially manufacturing spend huge amount in marketing and it is found that is not a environmental friendly approach also. Keeping the environment concern today all the business management focus on green marketing. The major objectives of the study is to identify the importance and need of marketing in Indian manufacturing industries, to know the level of awareness of green marketing and study the various problems for implementing green marketing practices. The population of the study was the manufacturer exporters in Micro Small Medium and large scale industries. The respondents are selected under the probability sampling technique, random sampling method has been adopted. Data were analyzed the using a wide range of appropriate statistical tools like Simple percentage analysis, Mean, Weighted Arithmetic mean, Likert’s Scaling Technique are used to attain the objective of the study. The finding of the study was the employees are aware of green marketing practices, but they are expensive to implement so manufacturing companies take hard decision to execute the green marketing practices. The Government has to play an effective facilitator role in this transformation with both stronger incentives on one hand and regulatory mechanisms on the other. With the Facility to the basic infrastructure the companies can implement the green marketing practices and execute the new technology for further development activities.
