Analysing the quality of life of retired male and female school teachers in Pondicherry

Abstract: This study investigates the quality of life (QoL) among the geriatric population with a focus on understanding the multidimensional aspects of well-being, this research aims to provide insights into the subjective experiences and perceptions of elderly individuals. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, data were collected through structured surveys and interviews from a sample of 60 geriatric individuals. The analysis includes the frequency and percentage distribution of respondents across high, moderate and poor quality of life categories, as well as a comparison of mean on the basis of independent t-teston QoL scores between male and female respondents. The attained results reveal that poor quality of life is prevalent among the majority of the respondents. Though, no significant difference has been seen between male and female respondents.
