Analysing the role of digital platforms in shaping voter behaviour and election outcome
Author(s): Azad Rahaman
Abstract: The rapid evolution of digital platforms has significantly transformed the political landscape, influencing voter behaviour and election outcomes. This study examines the role of social media, online news sources and digital campaign strategies in shaping political perceptions, voter engagement, and electoral participation. By analysing empirical research and case studies, the study explores how digital platforms facilitate political communication, mobilize voters, and contribute to the spread of political misinformation. Additionally, it highlights the impact of algorithm-driven content dissemination on voter polarization and decision-making. The findings suggest that while digital platforms enhance political engagement, they also present challenges related to misinformation, echo chambers, and data privacy concerns. The study underscores the need for regulatory frameworks and media literacy programs to mitigate the negative effects of digital influence on elections.
